I love this photo of a small child so motivated to learn how to ride a bike. Do we sometimes lose that childlike motivation to learn new things as we become adults?
I love how this young child has training wheels on and it looks like they are about to tip over, but that doesn’t stop them from getting back up and trying again!.
Learning new things such as playing the piano can be fun at first and then a lot of times we become discouraged as we metaphorically fall down or realize that it is actually is going to take some effort and consistent practice to develop new skills. This may not seem fun at times and our enthusiasm may wane.
The trick is to enjoy the practice on the journey of self development and realize there will be a few bumps along the way. .
Have you ever struggled as you acquired a new skill and how did you overcome your discouragement to give up? Please comment below, I would love to hear from you.
